Portage Soccer Club’s Inhouse Program is designed to introduce players to the game of soccer in a fun, supportive, and development-focused environment. Our goal is to help players build confidence, improve their skills, and develop a love for the game.

The Inhouse program is perfect for:

• Players who are new to soccer

• Players who want to develop their skills before moving to travel

• Families looking for a positive and flexible soccer experience

Players will learn the fundamentals of soccer including dribbling, passing, shooting, positioning, and teamwork while playing small-sided games that maximize touches on the ball.

Development-Focused Format

Our Inhouse program uses small-sided games, which are widely recognized as the best way for young players to learn.

Small-sided soccer allows players to:

• Get more touches on the ball

• Make quicker decisions

• Improve confidence and creativity

• Stay actively involved in the game

Game formats include:

• U8 – 5v5

• U10 – 6v6

• U12 – 7v7

This format creates a fast-paced and engaging environment where every player can participate and grow.

A Unique Development Opportunity

PSC’s Inhouse program also provides players the opportunity to compete against PSC Travel teams during development games throughout the season.

This helps:

• Introduce players to the next level of play

• Build confidence and experience

• Identify players interested in joining travel teams in the future

It also allows our travel players to gain extra touches and continue developing their skills.

Practices & Games

Inhouse teams practice during the week and play games on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings.

Games are typically held at:

• Lute Road Soccer Fields – Portage

Occasionally games may be held at:

• Riverview Park – Lake Station

Families will always be notified if a location change occurs.

Volunteer Coaches

Our Inhouse program is supported by volunteer coaches, many of whom are parents. PSC provides guidance and support to help coaches create a positive learning environment for players.

We are always looking for parents who are willing to help!

The First Step in the PSC Pathway

For many players, Inhouse soccer is the first step in their soccer journey.

Players who develop a strong interest in the game may eventually move into our PSC Travel Program, where they can continue to grow and compete at higher levels.
