Portage Soccer Club (PSC) — Player Code of Conduct

Portage Soccer Club (PSC) expects all players to represent themselves, their team, and the club with integrity, maturity, and respect. Players are responsible for upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship both on and off the field.

1. Commitment to the Game

• I will play for the fun and enjoyment of the game.
• I will work hard to improve my skills, understanding that effort and a positive attitude lead to growth.
• I will give my best effort at practices and games.

2. Teamwork & Respect

• I will be a good teammate by cooperating with my coaches and teammates at all times.
• I will show respect toward my coaches, teammates, parents, opponents, referees, and spectators.
• I will be a good sport—celebrating victories with humility and accepting defeats with grace.
• I will support my teammates and help create a positive, encouraging team environment.

3. Behavior & Language

• I will not argue with referees, coaches, or opposing players. I will accept all decisions respectfully.
• I will not use profanity, vulgar language, racial slurs, discriminatory remarks, or derogatory terms toward anyone—on or off the field.
• I understand that disrespectful, harassing, bullying, or discriminatory behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
• I will not engage in any form of physical violence, intimidation, or threats before, during, or after any game or practice.
• I will refrain from the use of alcohol, tobacco, vaping, or illegal drugs.

4. Integrity & Fair Play

• I will follow the Laws of the Game and play within the spirit of soccer at all times.
• I will be honest, fair, and respectful in both victory and defeat.
• I will represent PSC with pride and integrity, understanding that my behavior reflects on my team, my family, and the club.

Consequences for Violations

Any violation of this Code of Conduct may be referred to the PSC Board of Directors for disciplinary review. Disciplinary action may include, but is not limited to:

• Verbal or written warning
• Suspension from practices and/or games
• Removal from the team for the season
• Permanent revocation of PSC membership

No payments or fees will be refunded as a result of any disciplinary action.
