
The Portage Soccer Club has established a Scholarship in honor and memory of Anthony Cardenas Jr., a longtime board member.
In order to be eligible to candidates must have previously been an registered player of the club.
Anthony graduated from Portage High School. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Anthony was very involved with the Portage Soccer Club, the Portage High School Girls Soccer Team and the Northwest United Soccer Club. He was an active member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church. Anthony enjoyed his tropical fish tanks and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving son, husband, brother, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

📌 Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a graduating high school senior in the year of application.
- Have previously been a registered player with Portage Soccer Club.
- Be accepted to or planning to attend a college, university, or accredited trade/vocational school
- Submit a completed application

🎓 Award Timeline
- Applications are due by April 15 each year.
- Winners will be selected and notified in May.
- Awards will be presented at a PHS Event or mailed directly to recipients if unavailable.
